Course Objective: To develop in the students the basic knowledge, skills and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a firearm for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen’s right to self-defense.

PRE-REQUISITES: A VALID NYS PISTOL LICENSE IS REQUIRED, PLUS a completion certificate for one of the following courses: NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting, OR NRA Basic CCW, OR NRA First Steps Course.

Other authority to possess a pistol is acceptable for pre-requisite, (Law Enforcement Officer, Corrections Officer, Active Military, etc.). Ask about other evidence accepted as pre-requisite.
